NOW PUBLIC STORIES OVER THE YEARS:
http://www.nowpublic.com/b-zelley
*******Above site is no longer on-line *************
The above link began as a recap of issues of the
Vancouver Island Boxing News and the
BC Amateur Boxing News, but over time there would be
many other topics and issues that would be timely and public.

LINK TO BOXING COACHES and OFFICIALS

so every coach and official that are active or were an alumni of
the past deserves a place in the story or on the boxing
highway.

with many more names such as: Dave Brown, Rick Brough,
Bill Cowie, Tom Crabbe, Jim Gallagher, Joe Preston,

Update re. the past:

THE BOXING JOURNEY

LOST ON THE BOXING HIGHWAY: by brian zelley

The Introduction

Each person that gets involved in the sport of amateur boxing has their own
journey.  Some roads are long and winding, while others short and straight.
Over the last several years, I have attempted to document a wide variety of
boxing stories about the people, the places, the clubs, the tournaments and
other related topics.

The objective of this BOXING HIGHWAY site is to try and take it back
to the beginning for tournaments and clubs with the many names as best
as possible.

There are many sites to get back up stores but they range from clubs,
to club show, tournaments and other happenings.

THE LINKS TO SOME OF THE HIGHLIGHTS:

The above link takes us back
to 1983, and how the idea
of a Boxing News that would
not only cover the happenings
of the day, but take us back
through Flashbacks and
Golden Memories outlined
in various degrees of
detail.

i do not believe there was
any other amateur boxing
publication that provided
so much detail of current
events and flashbacks to
remember so much of
what happened in past
decades.
This blog "Lost On The Boxing Highway" will attempt
to re-produce the stories and add to the detail as
well as can be done.

LINKS: COACHES and OFFICIALS
http://zelley-boxing.blogspot.ca/
Without coaches and officials there can be no boxing,
so the first story on November 20, 2009 lists some
of the officials and coaches from the likes of Walter Austin,
and Leif Albrechtsen to Billy Watson, Ron Whalley and
Jeff Yule.

*The December 24, 2010 post had an extended list with
more names such as Dave Brown, Rick Brough, Jim Gallagher,
Joe Preston, Gary Wallace and Tommy Yule.
