It was September 1963 when I joined George Nepper's
Newcastle Boxing Club in Nanaimo, and it was 20 years
later that I became a board member and the editor for
the BRITISH COLUMBIA AMATEUR BOXING ASSOCIATION.

The above link began as a recap of issues of the
Vancouver Island Boxing News and the
BC Amateur Boxing News, but over time there would be
many other topics and issues that would be timely and public.
It was September 1963 when I joined George Nepper's

The First Issue: November 1983
*on the front cover I used a quote from Bob Chambers
of the 1954 Greater Victoria Amateur Boxing Association
which appeared in the 1954 Vancouver Island Golden Gloves
as follows:
"If we can instill in our boxers the will to win fairly
and at the same time maintain the concept of our
democratic principles, then at least part of our
future senior citizens will ensure no one will violate
the terms of human dignity." - Bob Chambers, 1954.
